More than their Attributes, States and Skills, NPCs are distinguished by Traits that are integral parts of their identity and personality. Some traits can be sexual in nature, while others are more mundane and may represent something that he or she is particularly good at, something that their background has instilled in them or even just a preference they hold. Currently active traits are shown on page 2 of an NPC's "Stats & Traits" screen.

Traits have a rating between 0 and 100. They generally take effect if their score exceeds 74, though some (e.g. Feminist) take effect at 1+, and some others at 90+ or only at 100. Below the point at which they take effect, they should not be visible on an NPC's sheet - though some may show at 75+ even if they don't take effect till higher. The current strength of each Trait can be seen by clicking on the "?" (= help) button alongside the heading of the Traits list.

Some are paired with an opposite trait, which takes effect below 25 on the same scale. E.g. Malevolent & Pure: at 0-24 this will show as Malevolent; at 75+ it will show as Pure, and in between it will be inactive, and invisible unless you check the "?" screen.

Single traits will start at 0, 30 or 50 if "off", and 100 if "on"; Paired traits will start at 0 or 100 if "on", or 30 or 50 if off. Many traits can change their values during play; some the MC can attempt to change intentionally. That means that the traits an NPC starts with aren't always fixed for life; some may show up or vanish during play - and some of them the MC may intentionally develop, or try to get rid of.

Some traits are unique to a particular individual. Some are commoner than others. And this list is not complete!

Daddy issues

This NPC responds more positively to older MCs and prefers to hang out with and getting taught by mature men.

  • Effects: MC age 40+ provides a +20 Charm and Persuade bonus, MC age 60+ an additional +10. MC's that are 25 years or younger receives a -20 penalty to all Charm and persuasion rolls.
  • How to increase: WIP.
  • How to decrease: Degrading cum events with very low Arousal (-10) have a 15% chance of decreasing this Trait with one point if the MC is 40+.
  • Sex: Female only.

Delicate

This NPC's vaginal and anal openings are very tight, causing more pain and wear than usual. You'll have a much harder time arousing a Delicate slave with larger manhoods if she's not corrupted enough.

  • Effects: Various penalties during anal and vaginal sex. A -20 chance penalty applies to all sex rolls if your cock is Impressive or larger. Massive cocks will cause even more wear, and might physically hurt the girl even if you play it relatively safe.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: Through long and grueling sessions of sex. Once Anal proficiency and the Vaginal skill reaches 60, she'll have a 50% chance of decreasing this Trait with one point per day.

Nymphomaniac

This NPC has a genetic urge for sex and is much easier to arouse and persuade into having sex as long as his or her Anger and Affection isn’t at terribly low levels.

  • Effects: +35 to all Persuasion attempts if Affection is Neutral+. +120 to all Persuasion attempts if Arousal is 6+ and Affection is Neutral+. Gains an extra Happiness and Affection point if brought to orgasm during sex. +20 chance boost to all Copulation rolls (all sex events, except Oral).
  • How to increase: There's a small chance to increase the Nymphomaniac trait by bringing a girl to orgasm during several different sexual acts.
  • How to decrease: Bad sexual experiences and low Arousal during sex, have a 5-15% chance of decreasing a slave's Nymphomaniac trait with one point.
  • Sex: Female and Males.

Oral fixation

This NPC responds more positively to treats and kissing. She's also easier to persuade into having oral sex.

  • Effects: Happiness gains during oral orgasms, +20 Persuade bonus when asking for oral, if Affection is Neutral or higher. Chance to increase Happiness with an additional point when providing the girl with treats.
  • How to increase: Making a girl orgasm while performing oral on you, with a chance roll that's above 20, will raise this trait with one point.
  • How to decrease: N/A.
  • Sex: Female only.

Perverted

This NPC likes everything that has to do with sex - especially kinky stuff like bondage, degradation and cum on (or in) unnatural places.

  • Effects: Easier to seduce (+20-40), responds better to bondage sessions if Affection is Friendly+. Walking around with low Arousal for too long might negatively affect Happiness (7% chance).
  • How to increase: 2% chance to raise this trait one point per orgasm during bondage sex, increased by 2% per piece of kinky attire worn (clamps, gags, hooks).

Shamefast

This NPC is a prude and dislikes to show him or herself naked or dressed in vulgar clothes. Forcing or asking her to take her clothes off or walk around in bikinis/harnesses will result in a larger Happiness and WILLPOWER loss compared to normal girls. Asking her to strip naked or put on a bondage harness will also be much more difficult.

  • Effects: Willpower loses when asked to be naked or dressed in skimpy clothes but also loses Happiness and Affection.

  • How to decrease: Trait will remain dormant when Corruption reaches 40
  • Sex: Females and Males.

Size queen

This NPC prefers larger manhoods while indulging in sexual activities. It doesn’t mean that she's overly-perverted, it's just that she finds normal dicks uninteresting.

  • Effects: -20 chance bonus during sexual sessions if your penis is "Normal". +20 chance bonus during sexual sessions if your penis is "Massive".
  • How to increase: N/A.
  • How to decrease: N/A.
  • Sex: Female only.

Vanilla

This NPC dislikes kinky, degrading and BDSM-related sexual actions.

  • Effects: Increases his or her Corruption slower than other NPCs. Large penalty (-25) during bondage sessions. Lowers Corruption with one point per day if Corruption is above 9.
  • How to increase: Assign an NPC as a slave to a slave master with 60+ Pure trait, 10 or less Corruption and 80+ Vanilla trait.
  • How to decrease: Orgasms during bondage sex or hard vaginal/anal sex has a 20% chance of decreasing this trait one point. Maintaining a Corruption above 60 when pressing Conclude day has a 75% chance of decreasing this trait one point also. Having the Touch of Adonis will always decrease this trait by one point on orgasms during vaginal/anal sex. Being assigned to a Slave Trainer with Nymphomaniac or Perverted traits will lower a slave or convict's Vanilla trait down to 0 eventually.

General Traits

Addict

The character is one of the many with a serious addiction to denaar resin, and will want at least $25 per day to buy a fix, or will suffer physical symptoms of withdrawal. Breaking the addiction may take months.

  • Effects: Each day with less than $25 worth of the drug, 10% chance to lose a point of Intelligence, Discipline, Stamina or Willpower. Also, cannot increase Discipline above 40 as long as the addiction is active.
  • How to increase: Give someone enough denaar resin to get them hooked.
  • How to decrease: Deny the addict an allowance for 100 days (or maybe for 1 day per point of addiction). Locking them up for the duration will do the job, but may not be necessary; they may still be able to do work while suffering withdrawal, without stealing money to buy drugs, getting drugs through some other route, or running away.

Advocate

An NPC with the Advocate Trait tries to sway your other slaves toward her own views IF she doesn't have enough respect for you to defer to your views instead - as long as she's not depressed, or trapped in bondage.

  • Effects: A chance roll based on the Advocate's Discipline and Intelligence, and offset by her Respect for you, determines if she's successful in either increasing Household Demoralization (WILLPOWER 9 or less) OR decrease Household Demoralization (requires WILLPOWER 40+) and/or increase household Emancipation (requires WILLPOWER 70+ and Corruption below 40). An Advocate with a WILLPOWER between 10 and 39 is more or less dormant.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: Elixir of Serenity from Raikan (Haruki's Store).

Dominant

This NPC has more resistance against willpower-reducing techniques. She can also be quite bitchy against other slaves.

  • Effects: Will affect other slaves by lowering their Willpower in randomly generated "discussions" that checks Willpower against Willpower. The slave's presence in your household might also affect other slave's Happiness negatively. Dominant and commanding words receive a large penalty (-20) if the Dominant slave's Corruption is below 40. All Cunnilingus attempts get a noticeable bonus, however.
  • How to increase: A Malevolent slave with Willpower above 30 has a 5% chance to increase this trait with one point per day.
  • How to decrease: Keeping a Dominant slave's Willpower below 0 has a 5% chance to decrease this trait with one point per day.

Extrovert

This NPC is a social creature. They may need more attention than other slaves, but will respond better to certain social events and may perform better than average in jobs requiring social skills..

  • Effects: Increases happiness gains from some events. May respond better to social events such as dinners and movie nights. +$30 daily income from Performing at The Golden Dragon. Increased chance to improve Dancing and Performance skill under influence of a Manager. Adds to Barkeeper effectiveness. Increases Tavern Prostitutes' effectiveness. Will reduce happiness if left alone for too many days. Increasingly depressed if no other girls in the household. Small daily chance (5%) that she gains willpower if there are other girls in your household as long as her corruption is below 30 and her willpower is above 10.

Feminist

This NPC is into girl power and will strengthen other girls' Willpower and lower their Corruption.

  • Effects: A Feminist will lose -2 Affection towards the MC daily, down to Neutral, when her Affection is below Loving+. Her raise Willpower/lower Corruption effect on other girls will become inactive if her Willpower drops below 24, or if her Corruption reaches 40+, or if you keep her tied up in bondage or imprisoned.
  • How to increase: There's a 10% chance to increase this Trait one point per day if you let your girl work at The Secret Garden Bookstore. WARNING: it takes only a single point for this trait to become active!
  • How to decrease: Keeping your slave's Corruption above 59 will decrease this Trait with one point per day (100% chance). Feminists that have an orgasm during bondage sex have a 20% chance to lower their Trait with one point per orgasm.

Frigid

This NPC doesn't like getting affectionate or intimate with the MC if her Affection isn't high enough.

Jaded

This NPC gains Happiness at a much slower pace; events that would make a normal person happy might not affect a Jaded one at all. He or she isn't as receptive to negative Happiness effects either, however.

  • Effects: Slower Happiness gain. Doesn't lose as much Happiness or Affection when MC treats her badly.
  • How to increase: Ending the day with an NPC that has Happiness 10 or less, and Affection Abhorred or worse, has a 20% risk of raising this Trait with one point.
  • How to decrease: Having an Affection that is Loving+ or Happiness above 79 when hitting End Day has a 15% chance of lowering this Trait with one point.
  • Sex: Both.

Malevolent

This NPC is a mean bitch who enjoys watching others suffer - at least to some extent.

  • Effects: Starts with +15 Corruption, has a +5 damage bonus in combat, and +2 to Guard Value. Daily 1/6 chance of raising the person's Corruption by one point if Happiness is 40 or higher (cap: 50). Daily 1/6 chance, if the NPC's Willpower is 20+ and they are not in bondage, to reduce Household Purity 1 point, if it is above 10. Daily 1/6 chance, if the NPC's Willpower is 20+ and they are not in bondage, to increase Household Depravity by 1 point (Depravity points above 4 eventually convert to decreased Happiness or Purity trait points of random NPCs who are not in bondage).

Materialistic

This NPC absolutely loves luxury and affluence. Bringing him or her perfumes, gifts, snacks and expensive dinners at The Golden Dragon will boost Happiness and Affection more than if you'd do the same to a normal NPC.

  • Effects: Increases boost on Happiness and Affection gains on gifts, treats and dinner dates, BUT have a chance to lower Happiness and Affection if you have Basic or lower Home Upgrades.

Nature-Lover

This NPC has an unusually strong connection to Raana's forests, and views the ongoing deforestation around Ikaanos as a plague.

  • Effects: -2 Affection/day (down to Uninterested) if you have any active investments in House Cyker (Standing 15+). -2 Happiness/day (min: 30) if you have three or more Workshops in your yard. +1 Affection/day (up to Amiable+) if you have two or more Gardens in your yard. +1 Happiness/day (max: 50), +1 Affection/day (up to Amiable) and +8 to all training rolls if Lush Grove hasn't been demolished. Only active if Willpower 15+.

Nerd

This NPC loves delving deep into books, learning unnecessary information and staying obsessively focused on obscure subjects. He or she will be easier to homeschool (Academics, Science) and has a chance to increase Happiness when staying at the Academy.

  • Effects: Starts with a +5 Intelligence, Academics and Science boost, but a -8 Charisma modification.

Pacifist

This NPC dislikes combat and will lose Happiness (-2/fight) if you involve them in any battle situation. Conflicts with the Warrior trait; someone can have one or the other but not both. NOTE: this trait is the flip-side of Bloodthirsty; it is active as Pacifist when the trait's score is below 25, raise it above 75 and it will become active as Bloodthirsty instead.

  • Effects: Decreases Happiness (-2) if present in combat encounters, but starts with higher Kindness (+20). Receives a -20 penalty when training Ranged or Melee skills.
  • How to increase: Taking this NPC out for walks or dinner dates (through the Events & Activities menu) and proclaiming your love for them has a small (%15) chance of increasing Pacifist (= reducing Bloodthirsty) by one point.
  • How to decrease: Fighting with an NPC as a follower gives that follower a reasonable chance to lose one point of Pacifist (= gain one point of Bloodthirsty) per fight - if he/she doesn't have the Pure Trait or Kindness 60+.

Perfectionist

This NPC does everything with extreme devotion and will not settle with half-measures. He or she can be a pain to homeschool (-20 Focus) but gains a higher skill yield in return.

  • Effects: An additional +2 Influence if assigned as maid. Starts with a +10 Discipline boost. Has a 7% chance of raising a random skill each day, from one of the following: Academics (cap: 120), Science (cap: 120), Survival (cap:120), and either (if Male or Warrior) Melee (cap: 120) or Ranged (cap: 120), otherwise (i.e. female non-Warriors) Performance (cap: 100) or Dancing (cap: 100).
  • How to increase: Homeschooling sessions from an MC with the Taskmaster trait have a 15% chance to increase Perfectionist 1 point; 30% if Discipline focus is chosen for the lesson. Also, NPCs that have an assigned Title, and Discipline 60+, Happiness 50+ and Willpower 25+, have a chance to raise their Perfectionist Trait one point each night, that chance being 50% for Head Maid or Pantry Girl, or 16.7% if Quartermaster, Head Chef or Nurse.

Pure

This NPC is indeed pure - both in heart and soul. Corrupting him or her will be much harder than with ordinary NPCs. As a (mostly appreciated) side-effect, the pure NPC's presence in your household continuously increases household Purity.

  • Effects: About 50-90% harder to raise personal Corruption. Daily loss of personal Corruption 1 point per day down to a minimum of 5. Raises Household Purity and decreases Household Corruption daily. A Nurse with the Pure trait will increase an NPC's Happiness +2 points per day if that Happiness is below 30. Pure NPCs start with +20 Kindness.
  • How to increase: Assign an NPC as a slave to a slave master with the Pure trait (value 60+) and Corruption 10 or less.
  • How to decrease: Keeping a Pure slave's Corruption above 50 when hitting End day has a 50% chance of decreasing her Pure Trait value by one point. Orgasms during bondage sex also have a 15% chance to decrease her Pure trait by one point.
  • Sex: Both.

Quelled

This NPC is more or less completely brain-dead. Most cognitive functions have ceased and it needs physical directions to accomplish anything. (Prowlers usually reach this state after the subjugation of being defeated in battle.)

While this being can be instructed to participate in battle, they cannot wield any weapons and will just use natural weaponry such as fists.

Scavenger

This NPC is a "scavvie" by heart and will bring in an additional +3 Merchandise daily if assigned the Scavenger job. He/she may also discover valuable items such as energy cells, tendstims and durasteel while out on scavenging runs. A Trait that's not unique, but is valuable and rare - only available to certain NPCs (Ansel, Doyle, Laika, Loden, Jack and Kyle always; Bud and Kelly sometimes).

  • Effects: +3 merchandise from scavenging, plus 1/15 chances for Tendstim, Energy Cell and Durasteel.
  • How to increase: N/A.
  • How to decrease: N/A.
  • Sex: Both.
  • Special: The siblings Laika and Loden both have this trait, and if sent Scavenging on the same day, will work together to bring home extra Merchandise (up to +6), and maybe extra tendstims too. (Don't ask them where they get this loot!)

Secretive

This NPC is hiding something. You can try to deduce their secret through the Interact > Interrogation action. They will reveal their secret when this trait value is reduced to zero. There are currently six secrets which can be uncovered in this way, from six different NPCs, and they are currently discoverable in the order: influence, weapon cache, gold cache, occult, ammunition, girl.

  • Effects: -3 Affection per day (down to Venomous), and +2 Anger per day, as the NPC resists assimilating into the MC's Household and instead seeks to escape somehow. (Note that because Anger naturally fades by 2 points per day, this trait won't cause Anger to increase, it will just prevent it decreasing.)
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: Through use of the Interrogation action. The trait starts at a value of 100, and is reduced by 12 points by a successful "Persuade" Interrogation, or 20 points by a successful "Threaten" interrogation.

Shy

This NPC dislikes larger crowds and feels more at home in a small household.

  • Effects: 25% chance to lose Happiness every day if there are more than 19 other NPCs in the household. This trait becomes inactive if you have accumulated 75+ Household Purity or if The Grove is still standing in your yard.

Starlet

This NPC loves to be at the center of attention. They are very much into acting, performing and dancing.

  • Effects: Increases Happiness and a small chance to increase Affection if assigned to acting, performing or dancing works. A Starlet starts with a +10 Dancing and +10 Performance bonus.

  • Sex: Both.

Submissive

This NPC prefers being dominated and told what to do by a stronger man or woman. He or he is easily subdued and loses Willpower faster than other NPCs.

  • Effects: Loses Willpower and gain Corruption faster but also imposes a small penalty on all homeschooling classes if Willpower is 9 or above .There's however a small chance bonus if you let this NPC go through the class naked.
  • How to increase: There's a 25% chance to increase the Submissive trait through "Explaining chores" dominantly and through "Frighten" actions if the NPC's Willpower is below 30. You can also increase the Submissive Trait by letting a girl walk around with a Large+ butt plug; this requires her Corruption to be 20+ and her Affection toward you Friendly or higher. You can also increase this trait (15% chance/night) by letting an NPC sleep on your floor, as long as her WILLPOWER is below 40. And Homeschooling sessions from an MC with the Taskmaster trait have a 15% chance to increase Submissive 1 point; 30% if Discipline focus is chosen for the lesson.
  • How to decrease: There's a 20% chance to decrease the Submissive trait through the "Encourage" talk option.

Sweet-Tooth

This NPC responds more positively to treats, dinners, and snacks at the movies. There's also an increase weight gain risk, as he or she is prone to snacking and over-eating.

  • Effects: Large Happiness and Affection bonuses when giving treats, which also have a chance to decrease Anger.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: Keeping the NPC in shape, with enough discipline, has a chance to break him or her free from compulsive over eating (Discipline 50+ and Dexterity 50+ has a 30% chance to decrease this trait with one point per day).

Techie

This NPC is like an all-knowing android from a classic sci-fi TV-series. Well, almost anyway; they love all sorts of gadgets, computers and technology.

  • Effects: This NPC provides a significant boost to Hacking attempts when they are accompanying the MC as a Follower. They also increase the MC's chance to find DuraSteel and Gold while Scrapping Merchandise, as long as their Affection is Neutral or higher. Having a Computer in the household gives this NPC a small chance (15%) to increase their Happiness +1 point per day, and boosts their Academic and Science gains from Homeschooling classes. All upgrades to a Tech Module instantly give this NPC a +3 Happiness boost. A Techie always starts the game with a +20 boost to their Science skill.

Unbreakable

This NPC has the spirit of a Red Tide Monk.

  • Effects: An 85% chance to increase WILLPOWER 2-5 points per day if his or their WILLPOWER is below 60.

  • How to decrease: Having WILLPOWER below 25 removes one Unbreakable Trait Value point per day.
  • Sex: Both.

Wild-Born

This NPC feels more at home in the outskirts and receives a Happiness bonus if you allow him or her to participate in hunting trips. The NPC also adds a chance boost to all fishing and hunting rolls, regardless of Survival skill.

  • Effects: Starts with a modifier +25 Survival Skill and also adds a small chance boost to all fishing and hunting rolls.

Workaholic

This NPC loves to work, always trying to make a good impression if assigned to a vendor in Ikaanos – giving you a daily +2 Influence gain. Assigning this NPC (female) as Head Maid provides a +4 daily Influence boost, as she'll make your household spotless and a fine example of what diligence looks like. Workaholics start with a +15 Discipline boost and have a 15% daily chance of raising Discipline (to a maximum of 100) if Happiness is Low or higher, Affection is Neutral or higher and there's no active Anger.

  • Effects: Starts with a +15 Discipline modifier and a 15% daily chance to raise Discipline if Happiness is Low or higher, Affection is Neutral or higher and Angry is Low, +2 Daily Influence gains if assigned to vendors and a +4 daily Influences if assigned to be a Head Maid.
  • How to increase: (1) An NPC assigned as a Janitor has a 16.7% daily chance of increasing their Workaholic Trait Value, if their Discipline is 60+. (2) NPCs assigned as Maids have 33.3% daily chance of raising their Workaholic trait value, if their Discipline is 50+, and their Happiness is 60+, and their Affection is 75+, and the Kitchen, Livingroom and Master Bedroom are all maximally upgraded. Cap = 100 for both.

Ammo Pack

The NPC has enough wealth or contacts to supply their own ammunition. They will not deplete the MCs ammo stash during combat encounters.

Berserker

This NPC fights with unmatched ferociousness. Their combat style is easy to dodge if facing a skilled opponent, however.  

  • Effects: They do an extra damage dice (0-20) in melee, but those attacks receive a -25 Chance penalty.

Bloodthirsty

This NPC cannot get enough of adrenaline-soaked encounters and thrives in every combat situation – especially if they are on the winning team. NOTE: this trait is the flip-side of Pacifist; it is active as Bloodthirsty when the trait's score is at 75+, if below 25 it becomes active as Pacifist instead.

  • Effects: Happiness and Affection increases when winning a battle. Better success chances at The Arena.
  • How to increase: Fighting with an NPC as a follower gives that follower a reasonable chance to gain one point (or lose one point of Pacifist) per fight - if he/she doesn't have the Pure Trait or Kindness 60+.
  • How to decrease: Taking this NPC out for walks or dinner dates (through the Events & Activities menu) and proclaiming your love for them has a small (%15) chance of decreasing this trait by one point (i.e. moving them one point towards Pacifist).

Brawler

This person prefers melee weapons in combat. They gain a bonus while trying to increase Melee, skill and do more damage melee weapons in combat. However their focus on melee weapons makes them less apt to increase Ranged weapon skill.

  • Effects: +5 melee damage, and +10 chance to increase Melee skill and STRENGTH while training, but a small decrease in chance in Ranged weapon training. +2 to Guard Value.

Crackshot

This character has uncanny deadliness with Ranged weapons.

  • Effects: When using a Ranged weapon, 25% chance of a Critical Hit in Combat instead of the usual 5%.

Warrior

This NPC has a natural talent for combat and raises his or her Melee and Ranged weapon skills much faster than ordinary NPCs.

  • Effects: +3 damage bonus in Combat. +5 training chance bonus when doing joint training sessions with the MC. +15 boost to all Arena combat rolls. +2 to Guard Value. +15 to Captain of the Guard skill if Warrior trait above 70. +15% daily chance to naturally increase Willpower.
  • How to increase: There's a small chance to raise this Trait one point for every won combat that the NPC participates in. The MC can also teach this trait to his Followers in Training sessions focusing on (military) Philosophy (decent chance of a +1 increase for each of the 1-4 Followers participating in the 2 hour session). There's also a 10% chance to increase this trait if the NPC is assigned to the Arena and has a Discipline above 49.

Rare & Unique Traits

Attention-whore

An NPC with the Attention-whore Trait is a self-occupied wiseacre that more or less demands that you spend personal time with him or her. Attention-whore NPCs have an attention meter in their trait pop info box. If this meter is full, the NPC will suffer drastic Happiness and Affection drops daily. Shrink this bar by taking the NPC to the cinema, river walks, go to the diner, the Golden Dragon, include him (Bud only) in Dockgrave bar runs, have "chill nights", dinners, parties, pool parties in the Gazebo, "spend time together" (a special event for some NPCs), or have them with you as Followers in combat encounters (50% chance of a reduction).

  • Effects: An NPC with a full bar receives a -2 Happiness and Affection drop per day. An NPC with an empty or almost empty bar will however increase his or her Happiness (+3) and Affection toward you (+2).
  • How to increase: N/A

  • Sex: Both.

Deadly Enemy

This NPC holds a particular grudge against you. For as long as this trait is active, the following effects are true:

  • -5 Affection/day (down to a minimum of 10).
  • +1 Anger/day (to a maximum of 20).

The Deadly Enemy Trait Value deteriorates naturally one point per day.

Depressed

Mai-Lynn Oshiro has severe mental anxiety causing Happiness and Affection to drop faster than they otherwise would.

  • Cause: Unfinished Character Quest.
  • Effects: -5 Happiness drop daily, to a minimum of 25. Affection also drops -2 points per day, down to Loving+.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: Complete the character's quest.

Docile

This NPC (e.g. Gregory Helm) is very lenient, careful, and doesn’t make much noise. They are used to being told what to do, and they do most things without complaint. Effects:

  • -1 WILLPOWER/day (down to a minimum of 60).
  • x 2 Anger recovery.
  • -10 Escape risk.

Emotionally Detached

It's very hard to get this NPC (e.g. Iona) to like you, at least on a deep level.

  • -5 Affection per day, down to a minimum of 60.

Green Thumb

Mai-Lynn Oshiro has the unique trait "Green Thumb". She has a natural talent for growing edibles and herbs. She boosts Rations yield by 2 per day as long as she is assigned as your Gardener, regardless of the Garden's level. She also uses Garden Tools more effectively, so grants an additional 1 Ration per day if your Garden has been upgraded to include Tools.

Haiboku

"Haiboku is a bond stronger than brotherhood. I am the foundation on which your spirit walks, Masutā."

Some followers of the Order of the Red Tide, including the cultist monk found in Stokke Hills, and "the Black Scorpion" of Raikan, follow a strict code of honor, part of which is a stricture to forever serve whoever defeats them in combat, indicated by this Trait. Followers of this code may also have restrictions on what weapons or armor they may use, though these details may vary from individual to individual.

High Nobility

This NPC belongs, or belonged, to the imperial class of Ikaanos. Their presence in your household generates +50 Influence points and +3 Palace Rating (up to a maximum of 7,500) per day.

Jaeger

Loren de Machaut is exceptionally focused on and talented at Hunting. This Trait means she adds a +20 chance bonus to Hunting rolls if she is one of your Followers in the group doing the Hunting. She also increases Meat and Pelt yield by roughly 30% when included as a Follower.

Liberated

Exclusive to Clea Vallas and is what defines her identity - shaped by her struggles for the liberation under the corrupt system of Ikaanos.

Effects:

  • Assassination tactics (Paragon/Wife Only): Clea does +30 damage on her first turn and instantly kills enemies with less than 75 health
  • Awareness: Clea is resistant to manipulation and is notoriously difficult to corrupt completely. Her Corruption decreases with 1-2 points per day if Corruption is 50+. Her Happiness is also capped at Normal if the player's Household Corruption is 100+.
  • Distrust (Inactive/Active, player-dependent): Clea will keep her distance (-5 Affection/day, down to Amiable) if any of the following is true:
    • Her Willpower is below 25.
    • Her Corrution is 70+.
    • The player has imprisoned or attempted to imprison her.
    • She distrusts the player after The Orient dinner.
    • The player has sold Aria Bianchi to the Mastersphere.
    • The player has enslaved 4+ Mercenaries or Paragons.

This trait becomes dormant if Clea's Willpower drops to 0 or if her Corruption reaches 90+.

Loyalty

A trait exclusive to Connor Sunderland after the player completes his quest: "The Sunderland". Because of this special deed, Connor holds a profound loyalty towards the player.

Effects:

  • -25 Escape/Dismiss risk.
  • No Affection loss due to unpaid salaries.
  • +1 Affection/day (up to Loving).
  • +15 combat damage (ranged/melee) if the player's Health drops below 50.

This trait becomes dormant if one of the following conditions are satisfied:

  • The player conquers Erica Sunderland's affection
  • Erica Sunderland or Celeste Sunderland is dismissed/killed by the player.

Manager

Tuner Jackson is not just experienced and talented in the performing arts, he also has an affinity for bringing out such talents in others. This makes him a potentially capable manager of other performers, now that his own moment in the limelight is over (due to his public disgrace). You can activate this Trait in him if he feels valued and respected enough: pay him an Allowance of $50+ per day, and if his Affection is Friendly+, and as long as you don't assign him to any other Job, he will automatically train all your female NPC's in Performance and Dancing - as long as they are not Shy, and have Willpower 10+, and have a Performance skill that is lower than Tuner's.

  • Each day, for each qualifying female NPC, he will have a chance (see below) of giving them a +1 to their Performance skill, up to the level of his own skill.
  • Each day, for each qualifying female NPC, he will have half this base chance (see below) of giving them a +1 to their Dancing skill, capped at 75.

The higher you raise his Allowance, the more assiduously he will dedicate himself to this role, and the harder he will drive the talent under his influence, as he feels he is properly sharing in the proceeds of his efforts. This means he will provide better success chances as follows (halve this for Dancing):

  • Less than $50: no chance.
  • $50-$299: 5% daily chance.
  • $300-$499: 15% daily chance.
  • $500-$999: 20% daily chance.
  • $1,000+: 30% daily chance.

Extroverted NPCs gain an additional +10% success chance.

Mentally Challenged

Kyle Scantell is mentally impaired from birth. This restriction goes beyond just having low Intelligence, as indicated by this Trait:

  • Effects: -85% chance penalty when trying to increase Intelligence, Academics, Science, Medicine or Administration.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: N/A

Relationship

Some NPCs are in a serious relationship, and each has a strong emotional bond with the other. The specifics of this trait may differ for each partner, and the strength of their bond may not be identical and may change with time. Particularly, females in a relationship are subject to being seduced by or falling in love with the MC, in which case the strength of their bond to their pre-existing partner may be eroded. If the bond is broken, there may be different consequences for each of the parties involved.

Currently, four NPCs are married couples and have this trait. The four NPCs in question are Gregory Helm and Valeria Helm, Connor Sunderland and Erica Sunderland.

Effects

  • -100 on sexual persuasion attempts by the MC (suggest sex, make out, bondage).
  • Females in a Relationship, if their Affection towards the MC exceeds Friendly, will suffer -7 Affection per day back down towards Friendly; Males in a Relationship may become Loving+ towards the MC with no penalty.
  • Each will lose -2 Affection towards the MC each day (down to Despising) if their partner's Affection towards the MC is Despising or worse.
  • -120 Affection and +30 Anger if the MC executes the other partner.
  • -3 Happiness per day (down to a minimum of 10) if the other partner is dead.
  • One partner in the relationship is Dominant versus the other is Submissive. The Submissive partner will slowly shift their Happiness, Kindness, Corruption, and Discipline towards the Dominant partner's scores in these Attributes until they match (15% chance of +1 or -1 / day).
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: This trait decreases 5 points per day in one partner if that individual reaches Affection Loving+ with someone else, e.g. Valeria falling in love with the MC. This may not affect the strength of the bond felt by the other partner.

Shadowborn

Kate Veeron has the unique Trait Shadowborn, which gives her Stealth in combat similar in effect to wearing a Stealth armor suit: she acts in a way that leads enemies to tend to target other Followers before they target her.

Sibling

This NPC shares an unbreakable bond with a sibling that may either hamper or boost their general well-being and efficiency.

  • Effects: If both siblings are present in the MC's household, have a Happiness of 10+, are unbonded, conscious and not assigned to a remote location, they'll naturally bump up each other's Happiness to 70. Sibling is Imprisoned: -2 Affection per day (down to Unfriendly); -20 Escape risk. Sibling is in Bondage (Corruption below 30): -2 Affection and +1 Anger per day; -20 Escape risk. Sibling is Dead: -5 Happiness/day (min: 15). Sibling's Anger is 5+: +1 Anger/day (max: 5). Sibling's Happiness is below 10: -1 Happiness/day (min: 25). Sibling's Affection is Despising or worse: -2 Affection/day (down to Despising). Sibling's Affection is Loving+: +1 Affection/day (up to Amiable).

Space Pilot

Milou Skye is one of the few humans on Raana who can pilot interplanetary vehicles. She flies one of the shuttles connecting Ikaanos to the Mastersphere,

Statesman

This NPC is a paragon in the spheres of accounting, business affairs and state-wide undertakings. Their presence in your household generates +5 Influence points per day. They also start with an extremely high Administration skill. They also increase income from Republic Standing by +5% if assigned as an Accountant and if their Affection is Neutral+

Stormchild

This unique girl (name randomly assigned) was born during a strange magnetic storm which somehow affected her on a subatomic level. She has unusually high Intelligence and Dexterity. She suffers from mental turbulence that has a small daily chance (15%) of raising her WILLPOWER and lowering her Affection toward you. She naturally mitigates four points of damage in all combat situations. She receives a +15% bonus to all homeschooling rolls. And bringing this girl to orgasm during non-bondage vaginal sex has a small chance of increasing her INTELLIGENCE by one point, up to a maximum of 120.

Struver Overcharge

Ayden Rhoades uses a customized coilgun that does +50 damage on its first shot in combat. The Struver-XE coil enhancer makes a lot of noise when it discharges, then needs 5 minutes to recharge.

Vestal Complex

Seve Pásztor wishes to reserve her womb for something sacred and special. As long as she remains a vaginal virgin, she receives the following bonuses:

  • Effects: +3 Happiness/day (cap: 75). +75 chance acceptance bonus for anal and oral sex. +15 to all homeschooling rolls. Unique Occult-themed events might execute during various interaction activities.
  • How to increase: N/A
  • How to decrease: The trait is removed instantly by vaginal sex.

Special Abilities

Some NPCs have special abilities which do not manifest as Traits.

Armand & Adrienne - Accountants

  • When assigned to the Accountant job, Armand & Adrienne will earn +45% extra money.
  • When Selling slaves, having Armand in your employ adds +$50 to their Base Price, or +10% if he is Amiable or better (has Affection 60+) towards you.

Enya - Gladiatrix

Enya has always dreamed of being a gladiator and achieving fame in the Crystal Hills Arena. Her constant visualizations and endless practice give her a +15% bonus in one-to-one gladiatorial combats.

Kyle - Frail

Kyle Scantell is physically Frail, having just 50% the Health Points that might be expected of an average man of his size and physique.

Laika & Loden - Team Wixx

Laika and Loden both have the Scavenger trait, but also work together so well as siblings that if sent Scavenging on the same day, they will work together to bring home extra Merchandise (up to +6), and maybe extra tendstims too. (Don't ask them where they get this loot!)

Nicole - News Reporter

Nicole Boulay is a journalist who, if she works for the MC, gives him the option of turning one of his rooms into a News Office - at which point her job assignment will permanently become "News Reporter". She will publish stories following one of several possible editorial lines (Democratic, Authoritarian, Libertarian, Rebel, Anarchist or Neutral), choice of which being either made by the MC or determined by Nicole's current Political Affiliation (itself determined by the current attributes of herself and the MC's household). This will bring in Money, and will also affect the Prosperity, Control and Corruption of Ikaanos. Nicole will also accumulate Political Power (based on her Discipline, skills, Prestige, Fame and Willpower, and the MCs Influence and Power Value). The nature of her publication's influence is determined by its editorial line, and the degree of this influence - and the amount of money brought in - is determined by her accumulated Political Power.

Rebecca - Skulduggerist

Rebecca Higgs has the "Skulduggerist" special ability that will significantly boost the returns from most of your investments. She is keen to become a businesswoman, dreaming of profits and capital accumulation. And her background in the criminal gangland underworld give her unusual perspectives, plus a range of potentially useful information and contacts, which could help any business she is involved with in unorthodox and fruitful ways. Her advice and devious maneuverings can increase most of your passive income streams by 50% to 75%, with the particulars depending on the investment. (Note: the effects of the title used to increase further if you married Rebecca, as she then worked even harder to advance your joint interests, but this is no longer the case.)

This ability appears as a "Title" under "Jobs & Titles" rather than as a Trait, but unlike other Titles it is only available to Rebecca, and unlike other Titles it only takes affect if she does not do any other Job; it is in effect Rebecca's full time job. It becomes available only after you have Talked with her to Ask her about her "Hopes and Dreams", and will temporarily cease effect whenever her Affection for you falls below Friendly, as she withholds her assistance.
