The Borderlands

The borderlands are a stretch of devastated forest separating Ikaanos and the Kingdom of David (the only remaining body of power from the first settlers).

Bandits, fugitive slaves, and fortune-seeking freebooters live in the region. The most notable is the newly founded Group of Hope, a religious cult that worships a lizard-like deity and exhorts all slaves to rebel against their owners and join the order.

A recent attack against an Ikaanian redoubt has started a small skirmish-war between the Cult and Ikaanos.
