Male Masturbation

In Ikaanos and other well-established settlements on Raana, it is considered a deeply shameful act for an adult male to engage in manual stimulation of his own genitals, or even to receive manual stimulation from another individual. In short, male masturbation is strictly taboo – such that no self-respecting man would even consider the possibility. The only socially acceptable means of achieving sexual gratification and release is through the use of a “hole” – meaning the oral, vaginal or anal cavity of another person.

Owing to the slave trade on Raana, as well as the rampant – although technically illegal – practice of prostitution, opportunities for “legitimate” sexual release are widely available throughout these settlements, even for unmarried and uncoupled men. Prostitutes can be found in brothels, of course, but also taverns, restaurants, lodging houses and even on public streets, and can be engaged for just a few Raanic dollars to provide relief for their clients.

In addition, it is not uncommon for certain categories of businesses – lower-class taverns and restaurants in particular – to make available a number of female slaves that provide sexual gratification for paying customers at no additional charge. These “floor crawlers” move from patron to patron, typically on their hands and knees, orally stimulating each of them to release and swallowing the issue. To motivate these slaves, they are often provided with no sustenance apart from what they are able to obtain from the guests themselves. While an effective approach to ensuring that they enthusiastically meet the needs of as many of the establishment's patrons as possible, this strategy has occasionally be known to cause arguments, or even fights, between floor crawlers anxious to service a client known to produce especially prodigious quantities of seminal fluid.

Thus, for unmarried and uncoupled lower- and working-class men, occasional sexual release is possible for the price of a beverage or a meal at a local bar or eatery – even without resorting to masturbation. Middle-class men have ready access to the holes of prostitutes and even privately owned slaves, who provide sexual favors to their masters along with other services, such as cooking and housekeeping. The richest men in Ikaanian society enjoy the company of beautiful and highly skilled courtesans, dedicated exclusively to their sexual gratification.
