The International Space Agency was founded on May 12th, 2098, shortly after the discovery of a wormhole, or quantum stargate, behind Mars.
During the following 50 years, ISA oversaw the mapping of dozens of star systems belonging to a connected network of quantum gates stretching as far away as 2,500 light years from Earth.
They were also the same institution that proclaimed the discovery of extraterrestrial life in 2107.
