Hakusan Empire
History
The Hakusan autonomous region was founded by the Japanese Space Exploration Agency (日本の宇宙開発) in May 2232 when the Akumishu colony ship landed on the Dakon plain north of Lake Prometheus.
For the first 25 years, less than 5,000 people lived in the Hakusan area, mostly due to the dangerous wildlife of the nearby Beryll Mountain Range and the more prosperous areas to the east around Lake City, which housed about 150,000 colonists. It wasn't until the turbulent days right after The Severance in 2290 that Hakusan began to grew, despite the southern migration of Prometheus farmers during The Dark Ages in the early 2300s.
It was during The Dark Age that the Hakusan we know today finally formed. The massive fortifications surrounding Hakusan Township, also known as New Tokyo, became the seat of a great warlord from the Kojima family, who eventually proclaimed themselves as emperors of the north.
The empire grew rapidly and subjugated dozens of other warlords, finally controlling a large piece of land stretching just north of Fort Terra up to Mire Creek.
