Fetid blindness

An uncommon corneal disorder where the central cornea undergoes a quick and progressive thickening that eventually leads to blindess.

There is no know cure other than surgery.

Etiology

Mostly unknown. Several reports from the Hunt Research laboratory and by the former medical facility at Whitehaven Academy associate River blindness with forest dwellers, especially those living along the southern parts of Red River. A study conducted in 2429 found that 13% of a swamp tribe in Preacher's Pond had developed the disease, when the occurence of River blindness in the Ikaanos Metro area was less than 0.5%.
