Background

Lovisa is a genuine "docks gal" born and raised on Ikaanos' ramshackle waterfront. In spite of the district's licentious reputation, her upbringing was strict and religious, making her a modest, kind and shy girl – best suited for domestic or academic pursuits rather than the pleasures of the flesh. Her striking Scandinavian features, green eyes and magnificent mane of blonde hair, are purely genetic. Her family had very little contact with their more tribalistic kin in Watery Eyes during her upbringing, as they belonged to the metro-influenced groups living north of Hamilton Square, raising the suspicion of her upright parents.

Lovisa's family struggled hard to support the girl and her twin sister, Lori Helm. Unfortunately, the family finally had to sell themselves into slavery when the girls were nine years old, after a severe famine had ravaged Ikaanos for over six months. They ended up at the household of Charles Robárt, whose Master, "Mr. Robert", quickly became attached to the twins and their striking personalites.
