The Prometheus Kingdoms, the Republic of Prometheus Lake and Hakusan (more commonly known as Lake City and New Tokyo by Ikaanians, respectively), are two autonomous regions that dominate the northern parts of the Ikaanos Colony. They're officially still a part of the Ikaanian Republic and pay a trade-based tax to the 'motherland - but share very little in ways of culture and internal politics with their cousins in the south.
History
- Early 2300s "The Great Flight": Around 75% of the population of Prometheus flees south to escape the lawlessness brought on by The Severance and The Dark Ages.
- 2321: House Carnell rises from the ashes and forms a powerful dynasty that will go on to rule Lake City and northern Prometheus for 150 years.
- 2472: Lake City is officially declared a republic after the aging king, Harald Carnell, dies. He only leaves a "bastard son", Rufus Carnell, with no legal claims to the throne.
- 2473: The Kingdom of Prometheus is officially dissolved.
- 2473: Dowager City, a small district inside Lake City, is recognized as a sovereign state, led by Lady Beatrice Carnell, the queen of King Harald Carnell.
- 2482: At the age of 18, Rufus Carnell submits his claim to be leader of Lake City.
